Hi,

Here there are the longest words in different languages. The majority of these words are rarely used cause of their complexity.

1. In English :

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious : 34 letters (it's in the Oxford dict.)

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis : 45 letters (name of disease)

TAUMATA*WHAKA*TANGI*HANGA*KOAUAU*O*TAMATEA*TURIPUK AKA*PIKI*MAUNGA*HORO*NUKU*POKAI*WHENUA*KITANA*TAHU:85 letters(hill in New Zealand)

2. In French :

ANTICONSTITUTIONNELLEMENT : 25 Letters (unconstitutionally)

[u] 3. In Spanish :[u]

ELECTROENCEFALOGRAFISTAS : 24 letters (electroencephalograph technician)

4. In Dutch :

HOTTENTOTTENTENTENTENTOONSTELLINGEN : 35 letters

5. In German :

Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgaben- übertragungsgesetz
(The monster word consisted of 63 letters, 20 syllables, and ten individual words .All to express a law having to do with British beef (Rindfleisch) and the so-called "mad cow disease." )

I'm surprised that "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" made it to the dictionary...

And both English and German theoretically have no limit to the length of individual words obtained by combining different bases (in English, normally confined to scientific words, but in German more general).

Here's a German word I learned in high school: could come in handy if ever you need to refer to an assassination attempt on the relative of an African chief:
Hottentottenpotentatentantenattentat

The longest non-scientific English word was usually considered to be antidisestablishmentarianism

in lithuanian

in russian

in turkish
ÇEKOSLOVAKYALILASTIRAMADIKLARIMIZDANMISINIZ (43 letters, 18 syllables) is usually cited as the longest word. It translates as "are you one of the people whom we couldn't Czechoslovakianize (i.e. make into a Czechoslovakian)"?

in german
