Dear Sakti,
I am a regular participant in this forum, and in fact got my start in translation thanks to Christa (Henni) and Bernhard, who run the site. I have been a translator for two years now and I work from German, French, Haitian Creole and Spanish to English (US), which is my native language. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1977, where I majored in entomology and agricultural science. My main interest and specialty are therefore texts relating to agriculture and the biological sciences in general, including medicine. Another area I enjoy is patents. In 2005, I earned my Certificate in General Translation from New York University after a two year course of translation studies. In addition to my specialties, I have had experience in translating texts in a wide variety of fields: legal, commercial, personal documents, tourism, to name a few.
