I just start to lear French, not because I am out my mind, because several advantages:
1) I heared that if I can listen French, then I also can understand Spanish and Italian roughly.
2) I think French is the beautiful language for its pronouncation.
3) I have take a lot of French stuff was needed to read.
4) I like a language which grammar and semanteme is precised.

There will be more and more question I hope you come to help

1
How does French differentiate the this/these and that/those?
The textbook annontate the "ce cont" means these and those are to both?

2
I knew what does "Que est ce que c'est" mean, but this phrase sounds like say same sentence twice, why French organized sentence so complicated?

3
Some words of object are put "la" previously but some are put "le", that is the biggest confuse to me, is there any regularity here?

Bonjour! French is not like English in some ways, so ce sont could mean "These" or "those."

It confuses me too! I don't understand much of it at all.

As for le and la, I read once that MOST words that end in 'e' are feminine, which would be 'la'. But I know there are many exceptions. I do have some notes in my book about this I think, but I am in the middle of moving, but in a few days I will send them to you. This should explain it.

That should help! Also, another great site for learning French is Indo-European Languages, click on 'French' and it will give you quite a bit of information.

You're welcome! Je vous en prie! I study it daily, it is so helpful, especially because it gives the pronunctiations. I feel sorry for the creator of the site, though. She's American, but moved to France, and in France she is not aloud to work, and she is fighting to stay in France.
