Seda, you have the right not to love French movies, however, before saying stuff like this above, please watch the Jaoui/Bacri movies, like Un Air de Famille, Le Goût des Autres, Comme une Image and especially Cuisine et Dépendances (my favourite! ).

If you do it once, please let us know what you've thought about, thank you.

Well... I neither didn't want to look aggressive, I apologize...

But that's right that I love these films so much for their ambiance, psychology and good observation of human beings that sometimes I forget that people can just find them boring and have of course the right!

I wish you a nice day, Seda

hi..hi..i have seen only a few french movies here in Singapore, they are 'Amelie', 'A la folie pas du tout', 'Le Choristes' and 'The Butterfly' (La Papillon, i think). They are all very good! from the movies that watched, i find that the beauty in those movies is that they are not all about special effects and grand cinematography but more of the storyline... touching, heartfelt.. heee... just my humble opinion!

ps i like foreign language films (from my point of view, foreign languages are those other than english and my mother tongue, Malay)... ie. iranian, german, french, hindi, turkish, korean, thai, japanese....for the different styles and perspectives they give..it is a way for me to learn about other language and culture too! when the International Film Festival comes to Singapore every year, i am the first to get tickets!! :b

I have only this one "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain" from the list.
I feel absolutely positive about the film. I enjoyed actors' interpretation of their roles. I was charmed away by the music. It's a good change after tons of silly slap-stick american comedies and bloody thrillers.

I think french movies are so...down to earth. But also mesmerizing...I like it.
