Question big/elder sister in chinese

I want to get a chinese character tattoo and i want it to say big/elder sister in chinese. i found a character online somewhere and wanted to be sure it was correct so could someone please tell me what the chinese character is for it? thanks!



this is the one i found. is it correct and do u have to have both or would just one work?

Yes, that's correct. You need to have both characters 姐姐.

Default big sister and biggest sister

姐姐 is correct, however if you have more than one older sister and you wanted to refer to the eldest, you would call her 大姐 or "big elder sister"
Thought it might be useful 'cause we don't know who your tattoo refers too.

Hi, KuaiKuai,

I've considered the term 大姐 , but I'd like to know (since I'm Cantonese and southerner), does the term 大姐 also a respected term when addressing "older women" (middle aged women)? Thanks.

i would really prefer to get just a single character instead of 2 so is there another one for big sister or sister thats a single character?
