Hello all,
I'm currently translating something from Japanese, but there's a company name in Chinese that I'm having a little problem getting correct. Can someone tell me if I am on the right track? 上海高登比爾美術制作有限公司 "Shanghai Registered(?) Art Production, Ltd." Thanks! |

上海高登比爾美術制作有限公司
Shanghai Dengbier Fine-Arts Fabrication Co., Ltd. or Your quoted "Shanghai Dengbier Fine-Art Production, Ltd." Because Dengbier is a name of company, we cannot put it in meaning but in pinyin. |

Sorry, I should say that 高登比爾 is nothing more than a name of company, so we have to pinyinize it as Gaodengbier, (my original pinyin Dengbier has neglected Gao, so pardon), the company must be registered in local industrial and commerical authority, by the name of 上海高登比爾美術制作有限公司, where 高登比爾must be a Chinese name; but there is also possibility, even every tiny, that the company is a subsidiary of a foreign parent company sounding like Gorden & Bill, Ltd. But I did not know, if this is true, my translation may not help at all. But this company is located in Shanghai, and pursuant to Chinese commerce registration, it must be licensed by name of "Gaodengbier" in pinyin, as the only lawful Roman name in China equivalent to its Chinese name高登比爾. Hope my suggest may help. |

動画 One last question; would it be "Gaodengbier" or "Gao Deng Bier?" I profess to know nothing about the rules of pinyin other than inputting characters into a transliteration program I bought for this project. Thank you for all your help, cacepi |

my option is better, since it's a combined word indicating a specific name,
if you write in spacing, words become more to imply other meanings. So better close style of pinyin as mine already shown. BTW, the Chinese equivalent of Japanese 動画 is 動畫(traditional)or 动画(modern) |
