need 2 names translated for tattoo please

found a few versions so far, someone I know can read it but not write it.

I need translated to Chinese:

Martin

Kathryn

Kats

here's what I got

Martin = mei ti en

Kathryn = kai te ren

phonetically it seems to work.

although for Kathryn I think " ka te ren" would be better but I can't seem to find the symbol for Ka ?

but I think tranlate names have no significance, because a name just a code ,have no meaning.

Don't you think names have meanings?

I give you a real quick example

The name Nicolas is made from the two antic greek words Nikè (victory) and Laos (people)
and thus means people's victory

Then you can translate people victory into chinese. It does not have to sound like Nicolas...

I'm simply going for the phonetic translation.... cause it's easier.

I could do the meaning of the name but that could make it some what longer.

Plus lets face it, around here only I will know what it means

I just need to make sure it's nothing bad/derrogative

I found 2 I like so far, I'll try to post them, but since they are images I need to host them first. Feed back is welcomed once I do. I have one person I know who said it works
