There are generally two terms for computer in Russian. They are: êîìïüþòåð and ýëåêòðîííî-âû÷èñëèòåëüíàÿ ìàøèíà. The first one is formed using phonetical tracing from English - [komp'jutjer]. While the second one literally means something like "electronic-calculating machine" - [eliktronnavychislitil'naja mashina]. But this term is not widely used, some people even think that it is outdated. But the second term is still used in some areas. While in everyday life almost all people use the first one.

Well, in order to be closer to the question brought in the topic...

Êîìïüþòåð - masculine gender.
Ýëåêòðîííî-âû÷èñëèòåëüíàÿ ìàøèíà - feminine gender.

In Chinese there are also two terms for computer: 电脑 and 计算机. The first one literally has the same meaning like Elektronengehirn in German - "electronic brain" - [diànnǎo]. The second one is not often used. It means "calculating machine" - [jìsuànjī].

Both are of neuter gender.

In Arabic, computer is masculin, the name of it is from the verb "to calculate".
