Well Jewel,you may have right about that Arabic meaning of the name Monia,but
I must to stress that a name "Monia" is a diminutive of a Polish name " Monika".
I think you may find that interesting.
As you see, the word "may" can be easily used with "you":-)

The usage of May and Can is depending on the meaning of sentence:
For example:
If you talk to a man who can be able to drive a car. You should ask him like this, May you park my car, please?. Also, if you talk to a man who can't be able to drive a car. You should ask him like this, Can you park my car, please?

I think it is clear for both of you
