Hi Jonas
Look at it this way: no matter which language you chose, you're already half way through to learning the other because they are similar in structure, grammar and vocabulary (as mentioned above).Anyway, I would chose having your future in mind: are you more likely to travel around Latin America (spanish) or Western Europe/West Africa (french). If you don't know, take spanish! And learn italien, portugese, rumanian and french afterwards ![]() |

Hi !
I am Spanish but I've studied French since I was 4. They are more or less the same and they are both beautiful languages. So I think you will love both =) Maybe you should think about what culture you feel more interested about. If you can speak the language you will be able to learn more about the culture. Another thing, not very important is that both Spanish and French have written accents ( I mean: á ... ) Spanish has only one accent and French has three. And Spanish accents have rules so you always know when to write them or not. But in French you have to guess them by the pronounciation =) . Good Luck and don't be afraid. Both are very useful languages. |

Oui =) Mais je voulais dire accent grave, accent aigu et accent circonflexe. Les dierèses je n'avais jamais pensé à les considérer comme tel.

Hi,
I learned French first, and then Spanish. The grammar is the same, but Spanish is much easier to spell, as every letter is pronounced except for one silent one. French, however, has many silent letters, and many letter combinations that are different but pronounced the same. If you intend to eventually learn both, I would recommend learning French first. If you are choosing between the two and only considering ease, go for Spanish. ![]() |
