Don't feel lonely Mr Snoopy!
I am an American in US (Texas) wanting to learn more Italiano. I know Spanish and I find is very similar to Italian. I have learned basic Italian from books and tapes but prefer to get direct from a native like you and others. One thing I must remember is our time zone difference. Maybe we have to wait long times to hear back? See my introduction. I am an honest person just wanting help and am happy to make new friends! mille grazie! Cinema

I'd say the most important thing is still being in that area, say you wanna learn english, go to an english speaking country, America, Canada, etc. You'll need that language to survive, to do everything, and don't just stay at home, go outside and communicate, don't be embarrased by your pronouciation or whatever, who could do anything about you?

@TheDarkMage:
(After months and months...!) Yes, you are right! I'm totally agree with you..in fact I prefer places (on holiday, for example) where I can hear and speak english and by this way I HOPE to improve it little by little also if I know that (for me) is not so simply. I think for now is enough that I can write and you can understand (you do it, didn't you?!), that I can speak and other people can understand what I'm going to do! ![]()

I meet many people here from all over the world, mostly Latin countries. What I do to make them feel at home is welcome them and introduce them to others so they feel at home. I can speak Spanish and English so that is a big help. I can also read both. I try to visit other forums like skyscraper.com, where I can speak to people in Madrid and most of Espana. I much prefer that Spanish than ours here in US. That Spanish is more proper and formal. I am surpised though how much bad words they use? We cannot do that on most forums. Anyway, thats why we are all here to help our brother and sisters. Ciao! ![]()
