Default "STETE" : what language is it ??? (for grandmother)

Hello

the word "STETE" means "grandmother"

but... in what language?


it must be balkans, near east, middle east, but maybe something else (france, italy, venetian dialect?????)

Cool What it means

Cypriot greek, but it's a very villagy term, the proper word is 'giagia'

This word sounds close enough to the ones used in some Arabic countries. They'd call grandmother "teeta" in Lebanon for example, and "sitty" in Egypt.

This sounds pretty similar to Catalan "yaya" which means the same - Granny.
