Sorry to break the happiness on the translation to MAMMA. The site that you were referred to doesn't give the right translation it just has the singable words in English not necessarily the word for word meaning.

The English language doesn't have many of the same meaningful words as the Italian Language does, so, for particular words that can't be used in English to describe the beautiful Italian word then they just make it up and write it so that its actually singable. I am actually the granddaughter of an Italian grandmother who just adores this song and it reminds of her mother that she lost in WW2 when she was very little and it was the first song she ever learned. I sing it at church on Mother's Day. It is a really beautiful song.
And no English words can sufice. If you would liek the exact translation let me know and I will provide the lyrics.

"Momma" seems to me any way more for a young lady. Here it is in English. I love this old song but it is so sad, I almost cry when I hear! Ja ja!
