Let's face it
Ciao a tutti,
come meglio si potrebbe intendere e tradurre l'espressione "Let's face it"? Mi verrebbe da pensare che potrebbe significare permettimi che lo guardi di fronte, forse. Se così fosse, l'espressione è applicabile anche quando si parla di problemi/issues? Grazie come sempre per il vostro aiuto. Ciao. Giovanni |

Non posso spiegare questo in italiano. "Let's face it" is a common expression used when we want to state an unpleasant fact clearly. It is roughly equivalent to "Let's be honest": "Let's face it, some people are simply unlucky!" (It's not fair, but these things happen) "Let's face it, you're not getting any younger." (You're middle-aged and your body is starting to wear out) "Let's face it, most Italian men secretely admire Berlusconi!" (although it is shocking to think so) Chiaro? |

Ciao Giovanni,
"Let's face it" potrebbe essere tradotto in italiano con "diciamo(ci) la verità",concettualmente significa "affontiamo la situazione", infatti associato a problemi si usa nell'espressione inglese "to face a problem"= affrontare il problema, prendere le cose di petto. |
