Ciao a tutti,
come meglio si potrebbe intendere e tradurre l'espressione "Let's face it"?
Mi verrebbe da pensare che potrebbe significare permettimi che lo guardi di fronte, forse. Se così fosse, l'espressione è applicabile anche quando si parla di problemi/issues?
Grazie come sempre per il vostro aiuto.
Ciao.

Giovanni

Ciao Giovanni

Non posso spiegare questo in italiano.

"Let's face it" is a common expression used when we want to state an unpleasant fact clearly. It is roughly equivalent to "Let's be honest":

"Let's face it, some people are simply unlucky!" (It's not fair, but these things happen)

"Let's face it, you're not getting any younger." (You're middle-aged and your body is starting to wear out)

"Let's face it, most Italian men secretely admire Berlusconi!" (although it is shocking to think so)

Chiaro?

Ciao Giovanni,
"Let's face it" potrebbe essere tradotto in italiano con "diciamo(ci) la verità",concettualmente significa "affontiamo la situazione", infatti associato a problemi si usa nell'espressione inglese "to face a problem"= affrontare il problema, prendere le cose di petto.
