Je sais que c'est beaucoup demander, mais j'ai une missive a envoyer à mon amie à Budapest.

Si vous aviez le temps et l'envie cela me serait d'un grand secours :

" tu te souviens de cette chanson de Brassens ?
voici comment ton amie l'avais traduite :

A. qui apparaît
une seconde à ma fenêtre
et qui s’évanouit

A ma compagne de voyage
Dont les yeux charmants paysage
Font paraître court le chemin

If someone can put this into English I'll be more than happy to do it for you, however the wording is quite complicated and Babelfish have failed me.

I will not be able to do it based on French alone.

Phew...This is actually a bit beyond me. ^^; I cannot get very poetical without an accurate text...So it won't be 100% the same as what you intended...
Nevertheless! here is my best guess:

A.-nak, ki egyik percben
megjelenik az ablakomban,
a másikban eltűnik;

Útitársamnak,
Akinek bájos szemében tükröződő tájtól
Az út rövidebbnek látszik,

Neked, ki bizonytalan órákat élsz
Fáradt estéken
Valaki túl másmilyen mellett;

A, haszontalan bolondság
Hadd lássam
Hibádzó ajkadat;

Álmodom kissé irigységgel
Roma* boldogságodról
Mi innen épp csak látszik.

* Question: did you mean Roman (as in Rome [SPQR, Julius Caesar etc.]) or roma (the ethnic grup also known as gipsies)?
