Favourite Quote for tattoo

Hi all, im interested in getting my favourite quote tattooed on my back in ancient greek.

The quote is "Self-control is the chief element in self-respect, and self-respect is the chief element in courage" and is said to be a quote of Thucydides the famous historian.

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated

Well, Thucydides is a very difficult author and his book is rather big, so if you could give me the references ( i.e. the numbers which usually accompagny or should accompagny the quotation ; just like the number of the line in a poem, for instance ), I will be able to give you the exact quotation in ancient Greek.

im not too sure if that quote is from "history of the peloponnesian war" though that was his major work. i'll do a bit of research on that. thank you very much for such a quick reply

Actually, it is his only work, so I'll really need more precisions.
