Hi all, I'm taking a translation work of an English document which related to religion. And I've countered many troubles. Please feel free giving me some help!
First, it's the title of the book that matters: "The House of Resolve". I think it should mean: "Ngôi nhà của Quyết định" But this translation does not sound good. And: - "The Hawaii Water Consolatory Service and Larntern-Floating" (My translation: "Lễ hội nước cầu an và thả đèn lồng ở Hawaii") - "The temple was dedicated in 1938 to house the principal Buddha figure, Achala" (My translation: "Ngôi đền được dựng vào năm 1938 để thờ tượng Phật tổ, Achala"). By the way, please tell me the meaning in Vietnamese of the word "Achala" if there is. - "Oneness with Shinnyo" (it is printed on a lantern, and means a desire or something like that. My translation:"tính duy nhất với Shinnyo", Extreamly difficult to understand!). - "Buddha-nature" (impossible for me to understand), from the sentence: "I must make my body and heart even purer and strive to constantly develop my Buddha-nature". - "Mastering the Dharma means to demonstrate through action what one reads in the sciptures, and engrave it into one's heart and mind". - "The more you work and toil in the fields, the more your body shines in the sun" (a verse, my God! My translation: "Càng làm lụng vất vả bao nhiêu trên đồng, là bấy nhiêu cơ thể bạn càng tỏa sáng dưới ánh mặt trời"). - "The Immovable One sees and hears the heart's desire of each, And guides them with an even greater strength" (verse again. My translation: "Phật tổ (just guess, I don't know!) thấy và nghe tâm nguyện của mỗi người, và dẫn dắt chúng sinh với sức mạnh lớn lao". What a shame! - "Grindstone Achala" (Some thing made of stone, big size, located near a temple's gate. My translation: "cối đá Achala". - "Kasanori Shrine" (another structure or something like that, can be found in a the temple). - "Keishu-sama was proceeding to Ein Initiation, the ceremony of succession of the lay Buddhist Dharma-stream handed down at Daigoji monastery". (tobe continued, I'll update later) Last edited by Platin4fun; 08-29-2007 at 08:20 AM. |
