Would someone be kind enough to translate the following from English to Vietnamese. It is for some Vietnamese employees that have still not learned to speak English fluently. Thank you.

This is a very serious matter I need to know, how to formally ask permission to date someone.

Could someone translate thise into vietnamese please:

"I would like to ask If I could date (person)"

.

If you wanted to have a date:
"Tôi muốn biết là tôi có thể hẹn (person) được không?"

If you wanted to make a date (render-vous):
"Anh muốn biết là anh có thể hẹn hò với em được không?" / I would like to know if I could date (you)?

But more simple in Vietnamese if you said:
"Tối nay mình đi chơi nhé !"/ Shall we go out tonight?

I think hẹn hò với em is not recommanded, hẹn gập em is more soft

If I were to be asking lets say the parents permission to date someone which one would I use?

hẹn hò với em

or

hẹn gập em (<-- i know this is arrange to meet)

is that how you translate "to date" in vietnamese? I know a little myself but i'm not sure the term to say dating.. and asking someone if its okay to date this person.

Aha, in Vietnam you can aply the form "Gặp để tìm hiểu / make an appoitment to survey, to find out someone". Translation is very funny, but in fact, you should do that. It's reasonable in the case you ask the girl's parents permision.

For example;
To her parents
- Cháu muốn gặp gỡ với em (her name) để tìm hiểu.
I would like to make a date with (x) to survey.

To her
- Anh muốn gặp em để tìm hiểu.
I would like to make a date with you to find out each other.
