Aha, in Vietnam you can aply the form "Gặp để tìm hiểu / make an appoitment to survey, to find out someone". Translation is very funny, but in fact, you should do that. It's reasonable in the case you ask the girl's parents permision.

For example;
To her parents
- Cháu muốn gặp gỡ với em (her name) để tìm hiểu.
I would like to make a date with (x) to survey.

To her
- Anh muốn gặp em để tìm hiểu.
I would like to make a date with you to find out each other.
