我首先想給大家談的話題是：比較中國聖人[孔子]和西方聖人[耶穌]。
My first topic to tell may be the comparison of Confucius and Jesus, representing Supreme Wisdom and Philosophy Oriental and Occidental.

孔子生活在中國秦朝之前的春秋時代，距今有兩三千年的歷史，相比之下耶穌的誕生剛剛兩千年多一點。對於遠東 尤其華人來説，孔子的影響力滲透到社會經濟和文化中，根深蒂固。後來，西方的耶穌也來到了亞洲，即便是中國 境内也有一部分人信仰耶穌，中國是個多民族的國家，人們的信仰可以多種多樣，自古以來同各種社會環境和諧相 處，互相受益。現在有一些西方人士和一些中國人對中國的信仰問題產生了懷疑，他們認爲，中國的孔子比較老， 對後代的影響力也淡化了，於是好多人信佛教和基督等等。

其實，我想，這孔子和耶穌其實沒有太大的區別，中國人追求的真善美和西方人追悔不已的罪惡不正是相輔相成嗎 ?

中國有句:人孰無過?過而能改,善莫大焉!
西方有句:這世人都有罪.

I am impressed how you chinese people can write that alphabet of yours!!
Looks pretty much complicated, and requires a drawing gift that I don't personnaly have!!

Is every "thing" a letter or a whole word, or what exactly?

Chinese is not by alphabet, though it has phonetic composition--pinyin, Every character of Chinese can have different meanings and natures, but as one of the languages, it has almost the same structure, that what we have called syntax.
