I just read an article in the New York Times saying that several tattoos (especially in chinese) do not mean what they are supposed to mean

... is it why we do have so many many requests for tattoo translation around here?

Honestly, I'd like to translate anything but tattoo. Why are people so interested in tattoos?

Tattoos are the in thing at the moment, it seems. I can't say I'd have one myself, mainly because I'd be sure to change my mind after about six months, and having them removed is painful and expensive.

The smart thing to do is to get it right before going ahead and having messages inscribed upon oneself, which is probably why there are so many requests for translation.

At least, I hope they're asking first

I agree with you tatto is something I would not ever ever do... though that's fashion in western countries... lots of people want some...
