I am a Chinese and have learned English for eight years.I'm afraid I can start learning a new language now,the said a second foreign language.
At first I want to learn Japanese, for Japan lies across the sea and has an important economical study value. But some time later,I find that learning Spanish would be a best choice since except English,Spanish is widely used in many places and in large population. At other hand I regard German a good choice for my learning of philosophy and French for art. So I nearly don't know how to choose.I wonder if there is anyone who can tell me the corresponding difficulty of learning different languages and help me choose one.And if you tell me the corresponding useful resources from the Internet(BBSs,websites),I'd appreciate your kindness.Thank you very much in advance. |

I think that you should decide by watching what you want to do after and with this language. It depends the interests, if you are motivated, you will learn any language. You must feel it! It's sure that the languages similar to Chinese probably won't be difficult for you. But it can't determinate us. In this case I should choose Ukrainian, Slovak etc.
You choose by heart ad by your future. In any case you will find help here When you choose the language you can ask the useful resources on the forum of this language, the moderators are au courant ![]() Good luck!

You can easily learn any languages provided you've well mastered your mother tongue! That's all what matters. Once your mother tongue is properly grasped, assimilation of any other foreign language becomes easy. Since you already know english it might be easier to learn french now... French is used in many countries the world over and it might be useful to you. You already know mandarin?
