I guess that learning languages is very possible to be done thourgh the net, you just need to have time and courage to do it.
As for talking about better methods to do that, I agree that talking with (or writing to) a native speaker might be very helping, because that will lead you not only to be able to make converation in the language you're learning, but also to learn slangs and expressions that make your fluency more alive.

For the web site, my connection is odd this morning, may be I will check it later on.
