czytować doesn't exist. There are two possibilities:

1.cytować - to quote
or
2.czytywać - to read from time to time. For exemple:
He reads Times occasionally. On czytuje czasami Timesa.

czytać - it is basical verb - to read regurarly, now or every week, etc.

jeść - basical verb - to eat regurarly, usually etc
jadać - occasionally, for exemple:
I have stopped to eat in this restaurant since they changed the cook.
Przestałem jadać w tej restauracji odkąd zmienili kucharza.
( I don't know if english tenses are ok here)

pić - basical verb - to drink
pijać - he drinks some cognac
Usually he drinks coffee after meal. But sometimes he drinks cognac.
Zazwyczaj po jedzeniu on pije kawę. Ale zdarza mu się pijać koniak.
