Mesothelioma (cancer of the mesothelium) is a disease in which cells of the mesothelium become abnormal and divide without control or order. They can invade and damage nearby tissues and organs. Cancer cells can also metastasize (spread) from their original site to other parts of the body. Most cases of mesothelioma begin in the pleura or peritoneum.

Mesothelioma is a cancer that is known to be caused by exposure to asbestos. It is a condition when the mesothelium is invaded by malignant cancer cells. The mesothelium is the protective lining surrounding the human lungs and other body organs. It is most commonly seen around the lungs, but can also been found around the heart. Freewebs

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. In this disease, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs. Its most common site is the pleura (outer lining of the lungs and chest cavity), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity) or the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart).

Never actually knew that there can be a form of cancer which is responsible for the asbestos exposure. It is rather sad to know about those who have suffered from this chronic problem and the employers are the ones who are guilty in most occasions. This is pathetic.

Mesothelioma isn't necessairly caused by over-exposure to asbestos. Even small amounts of air-born asbestos can lead to mesothelioma.
