Hi everybody i'm a french student living actually near Lyon.
I'm half italian, half kabyle-algerian. I speak english, italian, sicilian (this is not a dialect!), corsican and a little bit spanish-castillan. My nickname means "gattopardo", "cheetah", "guepard" in sicilian (by the way, in corsican too). I hope i'll learn more about spanish there but also about arab, amazigh, catalan languages... see you, bye. |

sicilian is only ignored by italy but several european linguistic studies and many historians considers sicilian as a language, and by the way, as a macrolanguage which comprises the differents sicilian's dialects (sarausa's dialect, palermitanu...), the calabrese's dialects and the Salintinu's dialects.
It is different than most Italian's languages because Sicilian is a Latin, a Greek and an Arabic substrate language at the same time. Moreover, Sicilan have a sophisticate grammaire and also a rich vocabulary, unique because of its diverse influences. |
