Hi, my name is nur. I'm new here.
I am very interested in knowing about other cultures. For a start I am learning french (taking classes) and turkish (self-study). My french is very basic and my turkish even more so!

Hope to make some new friends here!

What's your mother tongue?

We have Turkish lessons in the Turkish forum, did you check them out? And if you have any questions in French, we have a French forum too

thanks for the welcome! my mother tongue is Malay, I am from Singapore.my name indeed is derived from arabic, means 'light'. i guess u know that

i have briefly looked at the turkish lessons, am eager to start posting there , heehee. but my turkish is so bad its embarassing. i only learn from books n songs. i have made a few turkish friends while on a short holiday in turkey, and we are on msn, n i wish to be able to chat more with them beyond 'hello' n 'how are u'. i guess it takes time n patience

Yes!! She is so cute! The little girl is singing part of a romantic Malay song.
The song title is "Sesucinya Cintamu" by Malaysian singer, Anuar Zain. Title is translated as "The Pureness of your Heart".It is so romantic. The singer is a heart-throb (imo)

Roughly translated, the lyrics are:
