Hi my name is Anees. I from the United States (Portland, OR) and am 24 years old. My family is from India. I am currently in Prague attending medical school. I understand Urdu and practice speaking it as much as I can, although, of course, my accent is not as nice as that of native speakers, including those in my family. Also I am able to read Arabic slowly, but am able to recite aloud decently for religious purposes. Also, we are being taught Czech here for communication with patients. In general, that's about it! Feel free to ask for more info

That's an Arabic name, huh? You use Arabic names too in India?
And studying in Prague? Are you an exchange student then? Good luck with the new language

To Asma - Yes, Anees is an Arabic name meaning friendly, companion, kind. In fact, just a day or so ago, you put my name into Arabic script for me in the Arabic forum (I wanted my MSN name in Arabic, so that was the reason i asked . . ). Yes, since I am Muslim, there are Arabic names in India as well. I am actually a full time student, as the university is international, so I will be here for another 5 years to complete the medical degree.
To FD - I will certainly try my best if anyone needs help with Urdu. Let me know!! Thanks
