After 2 or 3 years of posting at sites and finding the "introductions" usually told me nothing about the posters/participants, I thought I would write an introduction that said something about me. Most introductions by internet posters say things like: "how are ya?" "how are yas?" and "hello" and "good to be here." The other participants at the site learn nothing about those whom they are interacting with. So, I may go over the top, but at least others know something about me. It it is too much and, if so, people are always free not to read it. Thus endeth my point!-Ron Price, Tasmania.

Well you should have been reading some other intro posts around here. Although that's true some of them are just very basic... some other are worked out to suite the forum main purpose... which is actually languages. We would have appreciated to read an introduction thought for the forum, not something you are posting whatever the topic around.
We don't necessarily want to know most about you but what we could be interested in... ![]() |

"Please introduce yourself," says your sub-site description/heading. So I did. I said the kind of things one says when one chats with anyone about one's life and one introduces oneself. And people who read it pick out what interests them in the spirit of 'getting to know you.' My words of introduction tell a great deal about what my activities, interests, values, beliefs and language interests are.
Anyway, I rest my case. I shall return at a later date; some busy weeks ahead. Apologies, if my posting here, my first posting, did not fit your posting paradigm, format, pattern, routine, expectation.-Ron Price, Tasmania. Last edited by RonPrice; 02-08-2006 at 12:43 PM. |

Well when you introduce yourself to anyone... do you think of the other one before to think of you?
That might be a kind attention to show everyone your interests... but what are you doing of ours? how come you just think we'll pick up just what we are interested in... Anytime you'll post too long you can be sure people won't read it all... you may first think of what could interest people around since what the site is about and then make your introduction intereting from that given point of view... seems you hide your best by posting everything on a same level... give it some attraction, point important things, what may interest us, what may make you a people one want to talk with |
