I speak Chinese mandarine, English, Russian (intermediate level only... coz I haven't practised it for 2 yrs), a little bit French, understand a little bit Dutch, and plan to learn Lithuanian in the near future ...sounds great~(hoho)My wishes here are to help people as well as to improve my own language skills. Please feel free to contact me! greetings, The Rattie of the sweet little cave Last edited by rattie; 02-02-2006 at 05:30 PM. |

Hello, Rat from your cozy cave!
In Chinese countryside, there are still lots of rats in rural farmhouses. Now Chinese farmers harvest enough grains and store them to feast your guys! But in old days, even rats were starved to death because of grains shortage. Do you spend the Spring Festival in Netherlands? It's a good place where dutch people own special nasal sounds, when I heard them speaking English or French, I doubted they were sleeping or drunk. I'm in Shenzhen, if you one day graduate or return to China, please come here and we have a chat. German is always too strange to me, but it looks simpler. And you are suggested to offer more helps here. |

Hi, pluiepoco
I have no comment on your interesting explanation of rats from your own experience, but I do get some knowledge of it, so, thanks. Yes, I celebrated the Spring Festival with my friends in Holland. Some activities (dinner, singing competition, etc) were organized by the Chinese embassy and student association as well. Dutch accent is pretty familiar to me now…already got used to it…I think it’s cute to have some accent, as long as it’s understandable (Language is about communication, isn't it?). I was in Shenzhen 2 yrs ago, on the way to HK....nice tropical city. Thanks for inviting me...I will let you know when I go there..(but it will be the earliest in 2008). As for the German language (btw, what I wrote up there is Dutch, not German), I can hardly say it's "strange". It is definitely harder than French (if compare the European languages in an international train ), but I'd say that every language feels nice if you start to learn it. Although Spanish is popular among Europeans (at least for my classmates), I think it would be pretty handy to know some German, for traveling to the northern part of Europe (you can find lots of common/similar words in Dutch, Swedish, Danish, etc...) and in Switzerland/Austria. best, Rattie Last edited by rattie; 02-03-2006 at 12:05 PM. |

2008, maybe I could become boss
.I even dream about North Europe, is the sea very different from our tropical sea? It must be in deep blue because of weak sunshine. Now, I'm semi-fresh in my office career, but I don't know when is the end, it seems hopeless. Low Salary, and endless freetime. |
