I was born in France to Algerian parents. I am instructor at a culinary school in Los Angeles.

So the languages I speak in order: French, English and Algerian Derja. I speak a little bit of Korean.

Oui Asminha.

I will answer in English, because I think there is alot of information about this in French and of course Arabic.

I prefer to speak about Magrebi derja and variations within. I speak Arabic like a Kabylie.

labass :D that's maghreby i guess. but nor dareja (or what was it..)

labass is lithuanian as well and means the same I think,
dareja means the dialect derived from Arabic used by locals of a specific place, which is different somehow than Standard Arabic, and also changing very quickly.... like moroccan dareja, algerian dareja, it's also called al 3aamia.

3amia is the word i knew lol. never heard of dareja (except now).
