Default Help translating a poem

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to understand this poem by 16th century poet Rabbi Israel Nagara from Safed.

I used Google translate but as expected the results are absolutely horrendous.

Quote:

The only verse I think I understand is the first one: "honeycomb on your tongue, white like the Moon". Perhaps a reference to the "land of honey and milk".

I'd really appreciate any help either as literal translation or explanation of the context/imagery.

I can translate the seventh line because it's a reference to the Song of Songs
את רעיתי בין הבנות כשושנה בין החוחים
You are my love among the daughters, like a lily among thorns
Tu es mon amie parmi les jeunes filles, comme un lis au milieu des Úpines

Cf. Song of Solomon2
As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters
Hebrew: Modern / World English Bible / Song of Solomon : 2 Ô€” ╬Ě╬▓¤€
Comme un lis au milieu des Úpines, Telle est mon amie parmi les jeunes filles
Hebrew: Modern / French 1910 / Song of Solomon : 2 Ô€” ╬Ě╬▓¤€

"Maqam Bayat" is explained on Wikipedia:

Yes, there is also this one by Avi Tsaliah. I have them both on my playlist.

Thank you Cloelia.

It's a good start. Your help is greatly appreciated.

There is an analysis (in Hebrew) of the poem here:
Ú˛°˙ Ńߨ - ńŠţń ý˘ÚňŔ

The little Hebrew I know is definitely not enough for being able to translate this analysis or the poem. I don't know if someone who really knows Hebrew will come here and be willing to help you on help.berberber. But ManOfSteel, please don't use Google translate. You can never trust its outcome.
