I guess Beky forgot writing “the key” in Latin letters. According to the Theological dictionary of the Old Testament, Volume 12 written by G. Johannes Botterweck, Helmer Ringgren and Heinz-Josef Fabry, key in Hebrew is written mapteah. It’s a google book so because I found it with my Swedish speaking computer the link will be too long and will not work. I attach an image from the book instead. Another way of writing is e·mphthch which you can find here: http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineI...OTpdf/jdg3.pdf on page 3 where there is a word for word translation of verse 25 in The Book of Judges Chapter 3. It’s about Israel's Deliverance and the main character is Ehud, the son of Gerah from the tribe of Benjamin. 25 And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened [them]: and, behold, their lord [was] fallen down dead on the earth. Anyway to be sure of the right pronunciation you should wait for Beky’s transliteration because she is the expert and Modern Hebrew may have a somewhat different pronunciation. P.S. As you can see I have enlarged her Hebrew writing of “the key” in the beginning of this post. |
