Hello everyone, I am new to Farsi and new to forums.
I have 7 months to learn Farsi so I can speak to my future in-laws ! I really need help. Can anyone suggest a good resource to learn quickly ?- I have searched and searched for books and audio but have just ended up confusing myself. All suggestions and offers considered! Many thanks in advance Cheers! ![]() Last edited by missalic; 09-30-2007 at 11:08 PM. Reason: added more info |

hello and welcome here,
I personally suggest "Pimsleur Persian", if you can get your hands on it. I have listened to some of the lessons myself and they sound really good, even to me. It is very suitable for your circumstances, specially if you have the motives to drive you ahead, and what's more you just want to talk, so you don't have to worry much about the writing. I wish you luck... If I come accross any other good sources, I will let everyone know...

Hi, thanks for the advice. I have seen the Pimseleur method on the web but am a little confused - There seem to be multiple versions and editions. Some are complete but others have only 16 lessons. I just want to be sure I know exactly what I am buying before I make a purchase.

Hi,
I think the difference is that, there are two courses, One of them is compact and the other one is complete. If you want to learn good Persian I recommend the complete Edition, you'd better think big. just my two cent.....

I don't know if this poster has been back on here in a while, but anyone looking for the Pimsleur Method CD's for learning Persian should check at their local library. I found parts A and B there and have enjoyed learning from them for free.
