almir, in the context you are speaking about the meaning of "real" is "royal", but you should not translate the word in such cases because "real" is a part of a footbal/soccer name:
Real Madrid Club de Fútbol (Real Madrid Football Club) Real Betis Balompié (Real Betis Football) Real Oviedo Real Sociedad de San Sebastián (Real Sociedad of San Sebastián) The adjective "Real" (belonging or related to the king or to the royalty) was granted by the King as a form of support, I think. By the way, "real" has a third meaning: the place where an army camps, specially where the the king's or a general's tent is placed. |

Quote:
Latin :res, realis ( thing ) = real (English real) Latin :rex, regalis ( king ) = real (English royal) The link of football team with the monarchy in last times is the origin of name Real Madrid...etc. One can say The real situation of Royal Madrid is now good = La situación real (verdadera, auténtica,) del Real Madrid es ahora buena.
