The story continues! I received this reply to my letter yesterday. My lover, who is Mexican, speaks no English and I speak no Spanish, so it is only with the help of this forum that our relationship is kept going!
If someone has time today to translate this, I would be most appreciative.

Especially the last 3rd paragraf [bold] which was considered very important for you, I wait for GotoTown's perfect translation of that paragraf.

You are exaggerating! My translations are not perfect at all, but I think I can understand better the sense of the Spanish words as Spanish is one of my mother tongues. And it is true that this Mexican man makes his words a challenge for us as his syntax is quite curious And I think that gobsmacked has to type her boyfriend's letters, which must be hand-written, aren't they? And knowing no Spanish! Wow!

It's easier for me to re-translate instead of correcting your translation, that's why I re-translate everything, but it does not mean your translation it's not good. In fact, you amaze me, as you are translating from one non-mother tongue to another; this is extremely difficult, especially if we think of the different alphabets between Chinese and English or Spanish.

It is no exaggeration to say that your translation is nearly "spot on" perfect!
You are correct, I am typing from my boyfriends hand-written letters, and I have to wonder if they teach punctuation in Mexico or not! I have no idea where one sentence begins and another ends. He seems to think our lack of communication doesn't present any big problem, but I find it extremely frustrating. Since it appears he intends to stick around for awhile, it's probably a good idea to begin taking some Spanish lessons!

I found no identifiable errors in your translation. Some phrasing, such as "God is blessed" , which doesn't really make sense, could be attributed to his sloppy handwriting and my inability to decipher the words correctly.

What is most impressive is that you not only "technically" translated the letters, but are able to glean the meaning of it, so it is not just a collection of words, it is a real letter, with very real meaning (for me!)

It isn't easy to put a letter up here, not knowing what is written, will it be embarrassing, am I going to want to crawl under a rock when the words are revealed? You and pluiepoco have been very kind, tactful, and tremendously helpful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
