Sweetheart,
I am amazed that you think there could be someone else, or that I have tried to deceive you in any way. I have been honest with you, and would never tell you lies.
When I met you, I had been alone for more than 2 years. The last man I was involved with walked out with no notice. I came home from work one day, and all of his belongings were gone. I did not hear from him for more than one year, and then I heard from other people that he was married and had a new baby.
After he left, I remained in the house we lived in when we were together. It became clear to me that I would not be able to afford to stay there, because he had left me with many debts. I got another job to help pay my debts, but I could not keep the house. The bank contacted him and asked him if he would be able to take the house, and he said yes because he now had a wife and baby and needed a home.
I have no desire to see the house, there are many, many bad memories and
many hurtful feelings. That part of my life has been over for a long time.
If I acted strange and nervous when we met, it is because I had not been with any man for such a long time. My former husband and my last boyfriend told me many times that I did not have any good qualities and no one would want to be with me. So I was surprised that you seemed to want to be with me. It still shocks me, to be truthful. I feel I have nothing to offer, I am quite ordinary and live a quiet, uneventful life.

The phone call the other night was from my ex-husband, wishing me a happy birthday. I have not seen this man since 1988! Occasionally he will call me and we will talk for a few minutes. We do have a daughter together, and that will bind us together for always. But I never see him, he lives in Hawaii. I certainly do not love him. He treated me very badly when we were married, he had many, many other woman.

I do not know when you think I would have the time to see someone else behind your back, I am either at work or at home. The truth is, no one else wants me. I am not good enough for American men, they want perfect women. I am not insulted or offended that you have had these questions. But I don't know what I can do to convince you that you have no reason to be suspicious. I have a great respect for you, and would never be untruthful.
I have not been untruthful in the past, not now, and not in the future.
