You ask my feelings of now vs. 20 years ago. I was young when we met. I was sort of lost for direction, looking for friendship, love, and acceptance…I found you. I don’t think at first I took what we had seriously…I believed I was a convenient fling for you. However, time went on and we really became close. You were a huge part of my life while in Florida. I loved you Juan, You just weren’t mine to love.
I needed more…I wanted it all…marriage, children, dates in pubic. I missed home, my family. I never felt like Florida was home for me. I needed to leave…even if it meant leaving you. I never meant to hurt you Juan, I know in my heart it was my only choice at the time. Well, here we are 20 years later…talking, laughing, reminiscing. It’s as if we haven’t been apart. I didn’t expect to feel such emotion when we spoke. It was like a fire was lit inside me. I’ve really missed you Freddy. You make me smile, you make me cry, you make me long for you. You are a secret inside my heart that no one knows of but us. You were my FIRST…I will never forget that. I’ll never forget the drives in your Mazda 626...so much of our relationship was tied to that car. I felt safe with you…loved. Somehow, after all these years, you still make me feel that way. I’ve really missed you Freddy…I just didn’t know how much until we spoke. You asked me if I loved you? The answer is for certain…YES! Always have, always will, now and forever.
