One kanji to romaji, please
I have this one manga series about golf, and one kanji in the name is difficult for me to know how it's written in romaji.
大志 - 遥かなる道 - Taishi - Haruka naru michi/dou/ji/chi(???) Does the title mean "Ambition - it's a long road"? Thank you for your help!

Hi,
michi is the everyday word for 'road/path/route/way'. Since in this sentence 道 is a noun being modified by a verb, this is the reading to use. dou is mostly only used in compound words, as a suffix meaning 'way/path' (for example, the martial art Kendo: 剣道/kendou = "the way of the sword"). The chi/ji readings are not used often I don't think; a different kanji is more often associated with this reading. taishi - haruka naru michi "Ambition - a long road" Yes quite right, by virtue that it literally is "Ambition - a road/path/route which becomes distant" |
