I am not even sure this is Japanese at this point. Can someone tell me what this says please? I can get a better picture if you need it.

That kanji means "mother", but it isn't really used much in Japanese. I imagine this is Chinese; it should mean something like 'mother', but it'd be a good idea to check it in the Chinese area.

In Japanese "(one's own) mother" is 母 (haha)
