meaning of kanji 安

Hello,

Im about to tattoo this kanji : "an" 安, on my back cause of the meaning Ive found : peace and serenity, if Im correct.
Id like to know if there is not another popular meaning which should prevent me from printing it on my body, I would not like to offend or make people laugh at me...

as far as i know, it doesn't mean anything bad.

Your kanji means "peaceful" and "tranquil".
You can read it as "yasu".
It's an adjective, I guess...

There are a lot of bad kanjis, you have a little list of bad kanjis:

破家 = stupid, idiot
馬鹿 = stupid, idiot
莫迦 = stupid, idiot

(Source: My dictionary and my brain. lOl)
