Hi.
I have been in possession of a pair of lovely bronze koi vases for some time. I would like to know more about their history and who made them. First place to start is to find an English translation of the kanji inscribed on the base of each vase. Probably the makers name or the region where they were made, I'm not sure so any help would be much appreciated... Domo arigato! Gerry Last edited by GerryG; 09-22-2009 at 02:59 PM. Hi.
The first letter is like 親, but it is definitely a different letter which I don't know, nor I can't find it in Japanese Kanji dictionary. The second letter is 敏. I wonder it isn't Japanese but Chinese. Or Japanese old letter which I don't know. |

Hi Wishful,
Thanks for taking a look and sharing your thoughts. I believe it is old Kanji. The only bit of information I have got on the matter is the attached which really doesn't help me as I have no idea how to interpret Kanji. It would be like asking you to understand Irish... Go raibh maith agat! Gerry |
