I was reading it on bbc news after watched it on the tv

In my opinion, i still prefer my car to travel

!! and the best way is the "covoiturage" !! (i dont know equivalent word for this travel practice )

Well cars are nice, that's true... you are not going pretty fast, but at least you can admire the country you're travelling through. Though when you have a month to visit China and you live in France... I bet you would still prefer a plane wouldn't you?

Just have to make sure your plane is not a trashy one. Hope after this awful passed summer air companies will start being more careful...

I read from TV that 2 of the victims were Chinese.

As for the safety of travel, I'd prefer to cars and trains, the airlines industry are now facing higher oil price and more fierce competition, so the air companies have to reduce costs and ignore the quality of maintenance and security; So it's a bit unsecure to travel in plane, but you have to, since not all countries are inland, we have to fly from one country to another. But for the sake of safety, we should choose cars if it is practical.
