Hi There,
I could really do with some help translating the word 'family' into sanskrit. I have a translation but i'm not at all sure if it's correct. any help would be appreciated. thankyou xx |

Family in Sanskrit is कुटुम्ब (kuṭumba) or कुल (kula) The first one is masculine, so कुटुम्बः (kuṭumbaḥ) in Nominative singular. The second one is neuter, so कुलम् (kulam)
Maybe you was thinking of परिवार parivāra. This is not the correct translation. In Hindi परिवार parivāra is the common word for familiy. परिवार parivāra is a Sanskrit word. In Sanskrit it means "surrounding, followers". Mostly used for a king with his attendants.
