Hello all, i'm a new guy, my name is adam
A couple years back, I picked up Gandhi's autobiography at a bookstore and as I was reading it, I fell in love with his ideas and the manner in which he lived his life. I believe he more or less created the word "Satyagraha" to describe his lifestyle. The way he lived would be extremely difficult to attain here in America with all the crap that goes on all the time, but I find it to be an excellent goal for life. Since reading his book, I have gone through trying times in my spiritual life. I was raised Christian and still am today, but I began looking into other schools of thought. I happened to purchase the Gita because I read that Gandhi really liked it; I really really enjoy the ideas presented in it. So, to make a long story short (sorry, this is a long post) I really wanted to get the word Satyagraha as a tattoo. I went onto wikipedia (Satyagraha) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, and they have the word in Sanskrit; but I just wanted to check on here to make sure that it looks good to Sanskrit speakers. Also, I downloaded some Sanskrit/Devanagari fonts for my computer, and I can't copy and paste the word from wikipedia into Microsoft Word.... which ultimately leads me to believe that maybe it isn't right. So, if someone would be so kind as to show me what the word Satyagraha would look like in Sanskrit, I would very much appreciate it Thanks! Last edited by GWguitar27; 04-14-2007 at 09:20 AM. |
