vikara means deviation from normal.
passion is described by the word aavega = excitement hence passion in love = premaavega = प्रेमावेग or mada = ardent passion hence passion in love = premamada = प्रेममद Last edited by drkpp; 03-05-2007 at 02:50 PM. |

The last time, you had given me this translation in Sanskrit प्रेम. That changes each time... I remind to you that it's for a tattoo thus the error is prohibited! Afflicted to take as many precautions but with the strange translations of certain people... Thanks very much!!! |

pronounced as prema. When combined with aavega, it changes to premaavega hence the extra line you see at the end of the word. This has to do with the rules of making composite words in sanskrit. Feel free to ask if you need further explanation. |

Sanskrit, Hindi & Marathi are the three languages which use the same devanagari script ( the script of city of Gods) to write the letters. Essentially, Sanskrit is the root language from which Hindi has borrowed many words. It has received equal inputs from Sanskrit & Urdu languages. Hence words from both origins are used equally. prema is a word of sanskrit origin while pyaara is a word of urdu origin.
