Translation required please! - Page 4

Thats great, I think it translates differently hey. One word in English doesnt necessarily mean one word in Sanskrit.

I just want to get it right, as its for a tattoo, and obviously there for a long time!!

So what does pranayamam mean to you?
If someone was able to read my tattoo in Sanskrit, how would it come across?

I think that pranayamam would be a good choice.
It actually is the name of a form of breathing excercise.and prana means life in sanskrit.Its a very powerful technique which can cure almost all diseases.

Thats what I am going with then.

Im going to a place a called Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga/Meditation Centre to learn how to perform it correctly, as I have heard of its benefits.

You have been of a fabulous help and I thank you so much for your time. I hope I can get hold of you again for my next tattoo!!!!

Failing the Pranayama (which i think I have worked out is a way of breathing, which I am currently learning) I would like the word 'Breathe' written in Sanskrit. Its for a tattoo and will be a reminder for me to practice Pranayama, or breathing to control my panic attacks!!
An answer would be greatley appreciated so I can get it permanently inked on my arm!!!

The root word is प्राणायाम & it being a masculine word its nominative singular is प्राणायामः NOT प्राणायामम्

Breathe as a verb [e.g. You breath] is translated as श्वसिहि which is imperative mood second person singular of the root verb श्वस् which means to breathe.
Also श्वास is the derived word from this root verb meaning breath. It being a masculine word, its nominative singular is श्वासः NOT श्वासम्. There is NO word as श्वसिक.

Now im confused!! lol

So if i was to get a tattoo saying Pranayama, would I get the first one you have written or the second with the : you have at the end?

Thanks so much for your help....a tattoo is going to be with me forever so I need to get it correct!

You may use the word प्राणायाम
