Festivals are usually called by their names: for instance Diwali - Festival of lights.
Onam, Pongal, Ugadi etc - Festival of Harvest. The word celeration day exist - It is called as utsavam. Usually the word "SU" precedes for anything that has to mean good eg: Hasini - One who laughs and Su-Hasini one who laughs Nicely or good. Since Utsav itself is a good day, I believe finding a comparitive or a superlative in its stem itself is pointless. However in terms of its importance some words can be prefixed to utsav like Mahotsav which means a great festival indicating its strength or importance. Hope the clarification is good enough. «In Matters Of Style flow like the water; In Matters of Principle stand like the Rock» |
