So my questions are:

1. how does 'Satya' translate from Sanskrit to English? Truth
2. how does 'truth' translate from Sanskrit to English? Satya
3. in Sanskrit, are these two words directly interchangable? no ! one is english the other one is sanscrit

Thanks so much in advance,

truth = satya = सत्य

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if sanskrit could be written vertically?

I saw on another website that it is usually written from left to right however I would like to get a tattoo on my foot and would like it to be written vertically. The only example I can think off is like the tattoo Angelina Jolie has on her back. I know this is not written in sanskrit however I am very interested to know.

I was also wondering if anyone was able to translate this for me:

Bhavithavyam bhavathyeva narikelaphalambuvath,
Ganthavyam gatham ithyahuhu gajabhuktha kapithhavath.

What is destined to happen will happen inevitably,
and what is not destined to happen
will never happen in spite of all efforts.

I really appreciate your help as I have been searching for what feels like years.

Thankyou.

I am looking for a Sanskrit translation of a lyric:

"Living is easy with eyes closed,
misunderstanding all you see."

I would be very grateful if someone could help me!

I am wondering if anyone knows how this saying is written in Sanskrit:
Ekam Sat vipraha bahuda vadanti
It translates loosely to, "The truth is one, but he has many names"
