Hello all!!!
I would like to know if anyone would be able to translate a quote from English to Sanskrit. I think it is a wise adage to live by and has certainly defined my life thus far. Thus, I would like to make it a part of a tattoo that I am getting in honor of graduating university and in surviving the challenges that life has thrown and probably will throw at me. So, I'd greatly appreciate the translation of a quote by William Jennings Bryant:
"Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved".

Hi, i have no idea how to translate, someone else will have to do that, i just wanted to say i like the quote it should make a cool tattoo. Also, i'm looking to get a tattoo symbolizing balance. I was also wondering if someone could translate 'balance' for me into sanskrit. Thanks! Oh and nyree1luv, congrats on graduating, and good luck on the tattoo.

Here's an idea for the balance tattoo - In Buddhism, the word Upekkha basically means balance (it actually has a really rich, deep meaning that you can read about in this Wikipedia article. The article even includes the Sanskrit writing for the word.

I'm trying to find the word "Satyagraha" in sanskrit. the concept means a lot to me, looking to get it tattooed. thanks in advance!

Go to the page whose link is present in my signature below. In the page, click on Free Demo button to download the evaluation version of a name translator. In that software, enter the name as Satyagraha and enter the pronunciation as satyaagraha (this is how it is pronounced). It will translate the word into Sanskrit. The software expects different syllables in the pronunciation to be separated by hyphen, but it is not a must. Often the software itself will insert hyphens in proper places.

And you do not have to give pronunciation. Just type the word Satyagraha in name field. The software itself will guess few pronunciations. Select the correct one of those. There is a speaker button which will pronounce the pronunciation (i.e. phonetics) selected by you. So, you can know if you have selected the correct one.

But it is better if you supply phonetics yourself.
